Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of The Burleson Plug website, directory, memberships, and related services (the “Platform”). By using the Platform, creating an account, submitting a listing or review, or purchasing a membership, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1) Definitions
- “User” means anyone who visits or uses the Platform.
- “Business Member” means a business or representative who creates an account and/or purchases a membership.
- “Listing” means a business profile or directory entry displayed on the Platform.
- “Content” includes text, photos, videos, reviews, logos, links, and other materials posted on the Platform.
- “Add-ons” are optional paid upgrades (e.g., recommended placement, banner placement, additional realtor listings).
2) What The Burleson Plug Is (and Is Not)
The Burleson Plug is a local directory and community platform intended to help users discover local businesses and help businesses promote their services.
We do not guarantee:
- Business performance or outcomes
- That listed businesses are licensed, insured, or error-free
- Accuracy of user-submitted reviews or listings
- That the Platform will always be available or uninterrupted
- Users should always verify details directly with the business.
3) Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform. If you are under 18, you should use the Platform with a parent/guardian’s permission.
4) Accounts and Dashboard Access
If you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Keep login credentials secure
- Notify us of unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for activity under your account
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5) Listings and Membership Tiers
Business Members may create and manage listings through the dashboard, based on the selected membership plan.
Standard and Premium (Business Listings)
- Business Members may upload a logo, photos, links, hours, categories, and a business description.
- Premium may include the ability to upload videos (as defined by your membership plan).
Realtor Tier (Property Listings)
- Realtors may create a Realtor profile listing and add property listings (up to the amount included in the plan).
- Additional property listing capacity may be purchased via add-on bundles, if offered.
Important: Membership features and limits may be updated from time to time and are defined on the Membership page and/or within the dashboard at the time of purchase.
6) Paid Add-Ons and Featured Placements
Certain visibility features may be paid, including:
- Recommended/Featured placement
- City homepage banner placement
- Realtor additional property listing bundles
- Other sponsorship placements
Disclosure: Some listings or placements may be marked as “Featured,” “Recommended,” or “Sponsored,” and may be shown more prominently because they are paid placements.
7) Reviews Policy (User Content Rules)
Reviews are intended to share real experiences and help the community.
By submitting a review, you agree:
- Your review is based on a genuine experience
- Your review is truthful and not misleading
- You will not post harassment, hate speech, threats, or discrimination
- You will not post private personal information (addresses, IDs, etc.)
- You will not post spam, promotional content, or competitor attacks
- You will not post fake reviews, incentivized reviews without disclosure, or reviews in exchange for payment
We may remove reviews that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
8) Content Ownership and License
You keep ownership of the content you submit. However, by posting content on the Platform (including business information, photos, videos, and reviews), you grant The Burleson Plug a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, distribute, and promote that content on the Platform and related marketing (including social media) to operate and promote the directory.
You confirm you have the rights to upload the content you submit (including images, videos, logos, and text).
9) Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for illegal activity
- Attempt to hack, scrape, or disrupt the Platform
- Upload malware or harmful code
- Post false or misleading business information
- Impersonate another person or business
- Abuse the review system
- Violate intellectual property rights
- Harvest user data without permission
10) Intellectual Property
The Platform, including branding, layout, design elements, and content created by The Burleson Plug (excluding user-submitted content) is owned by The Burleson Plug and protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse the Platform’s branding or design without written permission.
11) Payments, Renewals, and Cancellations
If you purchase a membership or add-on:
- You authorize recurring billing (monthly or yearly based on your plan)
- Prices, billing cycles, and benefits are shown at checkout and in the dashboard
- You can cancel renewal through your account settings (if available) or by contacting support
No guarantee of results: Memberships and add-ons provide platform visibility and features, not guaranteed leads, rankings, or sales.
Refunds: Refund terms (if any) are explained in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
12) Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts and remove content if:
- You violate these Terms or policies
- Your content is fraudulent, harmful, or illegal
- Payment fails or subscriptions are unpaid (for paid features)
We may also remove listings that are inactive, misleading, or no longer relevant to the directory.
13) Disclaimers
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim warranties of any kind, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement.
We are not responsible for:
- Business transactions between users and businesses
- Losses, disputes, or damages resulting from listings or reviews
- Inaccurate or outdated information submitted by users or businesses
14) Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, The Burleson Plug will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
15) Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Platform means you accept the updated Terms.
