Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations, renewals, refunds, and billing issues work for The Burleson Plug (“we,” “us,” or “our”) memberships, add-ons, and other paid features (the “Services”). By purchasing a membership or add-on, you agree to this policy, our Terms of Use, and our Privacy Policy.

1) Subscription Plans and Billing

The Burleson Plug offers recurring subscriptions, which may include:

  • Standard Membership
  • Premium Membership
  • Realtor Membership
  • Optional add-ons (e.g., Recommended placement, City Homepage Banner, Realtor listing bundles)

Subscriptions may be billed monthly or annually depending on the plan selected at checkout.
By purchasing, you authorize us (and our payment processor) to charge the payment method on file on a recurring basis until you cancel.

2) Cancellations

How to cancel

You may cancel your subscription:

  • Through your account dashboard (if enabled), or
  • By contacting support at connect@jointheplug.com with the subject line: “Cancel Subscription”

When cancellation takes effect

  • Monthly plans: cancellation stops the next billing cycle. You will retain access through the remainder of the current paid month.
  • Annual plans: cancellation stops the next annual renewal. You will retain access through the remainder of the current paid year.

Important: Cancellation prevents future billing but does not automatically issue a refund for the current billing period unless required by law or explicitly stated below.

3) Refund Policy (General Rule)

Because The Burleson Plug provides immediate access to digital services and promotional visibility, all payments are generally non-refundable, including:

  • membership fees
  • add-on fees
  • banner placement fees
  • realtor listing bundle purchases
  • setup or promotional placement fees (if any)

4) Exceptions (When a Refund May Be Considered)

We may consider refunds on a case-by-case basis only if:

  • you were charged in error (duplicate charge)
  • there is a technical issue on our end that prevents access to paid features and we cannot resolve it within a reasonable time
  • a refund is required by applicable law

If approved, refunds may be prorated or partial depending on the circumstances.

To request review, email connect@jointheplug.com with:

  • your account email
  • business name
  • invoice/receipt number
  • explanation of the issue

5) Add-Ons and Promotional Placement Terms

Recommended Placement Add-On ($75/month)

  • This add-on increases visibility on the city homepage and/or main hub, as applicable.
  • If cancelled, the placement will remain active until the end of the current billing cycle, then be removed.

City Homepage Banner Add-On ($275/month)

  • Banner inventory is limited. If a slot is reserved and delivered, fees are generally non-refundable.
  • If cancelled, the banner remains active through the current billing cycle, then is removed.

Realtor Listing Add-On ($50 per 5 additional listings)

  • Realtor add-on bundles are digital capacity upgrades and are generally non-refundable once activated.

6) Downgrades and Upgrades

You may upgrade or downgrade your plan (if enabled) through your dashboard.

  • Upgrades: may be charged immediately (or prorated depending on system setup).
  • Downgrades: generally take effect on the next billing cycle.

Exact upgrade/downgrade behavior should be shown at checkout or inside the dashboard.

7) Failed Payments and Past Due Accounts

If a payment fails:

  • we may retry billing automatically
  • your listing and paid features may be temporarily restricted
  • your account may be marked past due until payment is resolved

If an account remains unpaid:

  • we may suspend premium features, remove add-ons, and/or hide listings
  • we may cancel the subscription after repeated failed attempts (timing may vary)

8) Chargebacks

If you file a chargeback with your payment provider:

  • access to paid features may be suspended while the dispute is reviewed
  • we may provide documentation to the payment processor, including proof of service access and activity logs
  • repeated chargebacks may result in account termination

If you have an issue, please contact us first so we can resolve it.

9) Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date.
