DMCA & Copyright Policy
The Burleson Plug (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users and businesses to do the same. This DMCA / Copyright Policy explains how copyright complaints and takedown requests are handled for content posted on our Platform, including business listings, photos, videos, and reviews.
If you believe content on The Burleson Plug infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown request as described below.
1) Copyright Ownership
All content you submit (photos, videos, logos, text, and other materials) must be content you own or have permission to use.
Examples of content that may infringe copyright include:
- photos or videos copied from another business, photographer, or website
- images taken from Google search results without permission
- videos with copyrighted music without licensing
- logos or branded materials you do not own or control
If content is reported and appears to infringe copyright, we may remove it.
2) How to Submit a DMCA Takedown Notice
To submit a DMCA notice, send an email to our designated DMCA contact (below) with the following information:
- Your name (or the name of the copyright owner)
- Your contact information (email, phone number, mailing address)
- A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed
- The exact URL(s) on The Burleson Plug where the allegedly infringing content appears
- A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, agent, or the law
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is acceptable for email)

3) What Happens After We Receive a Notice
After receiving a valid DMCA notice, we may:
- remove or disable access to the content
- notify the user or business that posted the content
- repeat violations may result in account suspension or termination
We may request additional information if your notice is incomplete.
4) Counter-Notice (If You Believe Content Was Removed by Mistake)
If your content was removed and you believe it was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice.
Your counter-notice must include:
- Your name and contact information
- The URL(s) and description of the content removed
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the content was removed due to mistake or misidentification
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or if outside the U.S., a district where we are located) and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is acceptable)
If a valid counter-notice is received, we may restore the content unless the original claimant files a court action within the time allowed by law.
5) Repeat Infringers
We may suspend or terminate accounts of users or businesses who repeatedly post infringing content.
